New Blogger 3 column templates by Isnaini

NOTE: Before you edit or change template, make sure you backup your curremt template PLUS Page Elements. Refer to Backing up current template PLUS Page Elements before changing new template. All templates here will give blogs without the navbar

Here are some 3 column templates for New Blogger by Isnaini, examples of which can be seen at Wedding Tips (using the Nyoba 780 template) and Money and Finance (Using the Nyoba template). Note that the graphic header didn't come with the template and you will have to make your own graphic header and save it into your computer for later uploading. When you first load the template, your blog Header will just be a blank grey rectangle, waiting for you to add the graphic Header.

The templates can be downloaded from Free Templates. There are other templates available there, but they are old classic Blogger templates. To download the template, right-click on the "download" link and select "Save target as.." (wordings will be slightly different for different browsers), and then save it to a suitable folder in your computer.

Computers, Add-ons, handhelds and PDAs, software

To change your template to the newly downloaded template, in the Dashboard, click LAYOUT. You will see a Layout like the screenshot below (click to enlarge). Yours will be slightly because I have added various Page Elements. What I want you to note is the PICTURE Page Element in the Header. Click Edit, then browse to the graphic header you have saved in your computer, then click "Save Changes".

New Blogger Nyoba template layout

Update April 17 2007: I found the gray space in the header too deep for Wedding Tips. I thus went into the template editor and found this block of codes

#header {
height: 180px;
margin: 0px;
padding: 0px;
background-color: $headerBgColor;

and changed height: 180px; to height: 115px;
The codes thus became

#header {
height: 115px;
margin: 0px;
padding: 0px;
background-color: $headerBgColor;

The Header for that blog is as I want it now. Save valuable above the fold space.

  2. Hi Sam,

    BACK UP YOUR TEMPLATE. Then look for

    #header {
    height: 180px;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 0px;
    background-color: $headerBgColor;

    Change it to

    #header {
    height: 180px;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 0px;
    background-color: #55AAFF;

    or some other blue color you want. For this the ColorPic tool mentioned in this post Blending the colors of your ads to the colors of the site may be helpful.

    Also, you may have to change the color of the 2 gray sides. This you do in the Layout > Fonts and colors > Page Background

  5. Hi brandi,

    Right-click on the "download" link and select "Save link as.." then download to a suitable folder.

    In Blogger Dashboard, click Layout, then Edit HTML, browse to the xml file you downloaded and click Upload.

    I did that and had no problem.

  6. Hi Claudya,

    Those are not navigation aids. They are AdSense link units. If you want them, you will have to join AdSense. To apply for AdSense, click "Generate revenue from your website. Google AdSense" text link at the top of the right sidebar of my blogs.

    Then you have to add extra "Add a Page Element" to the Header. Refer to New Blogger: How to add AdSense ads, link units, search box, etc. to your blog Header.

    You will then have to generate the script from your AdSense account, click "Add a Page Element" in the Header, select HTML/Javascript and paste the script in the box.

    After joining AdSense, if you have further problems, by all mean ask again.

  8. i'v question i'm using the old 3 column temple the one same as your page i want to know how to make the template in full screen i mean there is space in the right and left , so how can i do this?

  9. Hi admin,

    There are reasons I use this template for my blog. See What is the best template for my blog. I have a StatCounter and I find that there are still 5-20% of my visitors still using 800x600 screen resolution (small screen) and for them, they don't see any white space on both side of the blog.

    You can change the width of the template by making changes in the CSS, but if you are not bothered about visitors using small screen, you can use other templates which will not show empty space on both sides of the content. Have a look at:

  10. Thank you for pointing me to the Nyoba 780 template!!! I'm a html/css idiot, but I was able to do some simple customization on it and couldn't be more pleased with my blog's layout now. I'm still tweaking it, but all in all, it's what I was searching for AND it was written in such a way that I could modify it!! Thanks, again!

  11. Hi qb,

    Glad you found the link useful and found something you wanted. Thanks for commenting and expressing your appreciation. BTW, if you want your link to be an active link, you will have to write it as <a href="http://cubiesconfections.blogspot.com/">Cubie's Confections</a>

  13. Hi Iventbyblogging,

    I am afraid without being able to access your blogger account, I cannot answer your question. Do you know how to make a screenshot of your LAYOUT, upload it to the web using Free Image and Video Hosting or uploading into a post? Hope you don't get offended, but just in case, have a look at Making and editing screenshots.

  14. Hi there! I uploaded your template xml file "780" but I'm having problems with viewing my blog in IE now. My version of IE doesn't show the LH sidebar at all and my husband's versions of IE shows the sidebar but the blog body and sidebar as "bleeding" into the picture at the top (or maybe the other way around).

    In Firefox, which is my primary browser, it looks fine. What can I do to fix this?

    Thanks!

  15. Hi Amber,

    I check source and found:

    Blogger Template Style
    Name: Nyoba 3 Column
    Designer: Isnaini
    URL: www.isnaini.com
    Date: 19 Feb 2007

    I don't know what is that "780" you are referring to. Yes, there are only 1 sidebar, but did you add any Page Element/s to the second sidebar. It is possible that if you did not add any, it may not be displayed.

    Plus your profile seemed to be different. You have an extra drop-down menu in the profile (About Me). I don't have a demo Nyoba template blog, maybe when I finished my tasks with datelines, I will test that and see what is going on.

    Left sidebar isn't your only problem. I checked your blog with 6 browsers (Why you should be using more than 1 browsers) - Internet Explorer 6, FireFox 2.0, Flock, Netscape Navigator, Opera, Avant. Your right-sidebar have been pushed to the bottom of the page in Internet Explorer 6 and Avant. Refer to Troubleshoot sidebar at bottom of page problems.

    Bookmark this blog or subscribe to feed (there is a subscription by email box in the left sidebar). If I forget to update this blog with a test of the Nyoba template, bug me again with a comment.

  16. Peter, thank you so much for your prompt feedback. I AM sorry; I thought you were the designer. (long story, just suffice to say I was frustrated and had a lot of tabs open looking for why it wasn't working.

    Also, the .xml uploaded onto my desktop as:

    template-nyoba-780.xml

    That's why I called it the "780"; sorry.

    I do like that template and I wish I could use it; however, I did finally take it off. The designer's website is all in Japanese (well, I think) and I'm too shy to try and post in English and see if he/she responds.

    If you find out what the problem was, please let me know. If you need me to send you the html as I received it originally, let me know, I still have it saved.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated because I hate the template I have now; I'm only using it because I can put my own .jpg at the top and I like to rotate those periodically as I take new photographs. I like clean, simple templates without another person's art; I want to use my own photos, not someone else's work. If you know of any other templates that allow that and work in the "new" blogger, please let me know!

    Again, thank you for your kind response! Have a great weekend!

  17. Hi Amber,

    You can do that with lots of other templates either by editing the template and replacing the original image URL with the URL of your own image in the template or using a plain template without graphics and adding one via Page Elements or using background graphic blog Header etc. I may publish a post when I get the time, but have a look at

    Add graphic blog Header for your blog

    Graphic background Header for your blog

    Another way of adding graphic to your blog Header

    Add graphic Header the easy way

    graphic blog Header related post

    If the above don't give you what you want, and you seem to be able to change the image by going into the template, have a look at other templates, some with heavy graphics:
