Profile Directory - increase traffic to your blog

Daniel Thomson posted a nice comment about my blog at Put photo of authors in post footer alerting me to a post Profile Directory: Blogger Tips and Tricks. He also have a post explaining the importance of a Profile page and why he set up that Profile Directory at Why Profile Pages are important. I have added my profile to his profile directory, and it may help you get more traffic to your blog if you do that too.

  1. This comment is not related with the current article but your blog has been a good helper many times so thought to inform you that "AddThis" has a new drop down widget too.

You are still using the same old widget which goes on to open a new window. See the "AddThis" blog for the other new widget

  3. I've added mine to the profile site also. I have a question about the post and this statement "Daniel Thomson posted a nice comment about my blog at Put photo of authors in post footer alerting me" When you linked to your own blog by "Put Photo of ..." how did you do that? I tried it this morning in Posting, edit posts, linking the first in a series of paintings to #4 in the series. I published, tested and the link took me to the EDIT page of #4..scary that I'd made it accessible to anyone. Maybe this sums it up..how do you link one of your posts to another post in order to say.. Refer to Post on July 9 for additional information on pings...etc..Thanks, ns

  4. Hi Nancy,

I am afraid I don't fully understand your questions, only can guess a little. I think I will have to answer you with a new post. In the meantime, if you can rephrase your question to make it clearer what you want, that would be helpful. In anycase, I think you will have to wait a bit because I have other posts waithing to be published.

  6. OK, I'll give it another try. For example: On Mon. I post about several books I really enjoyed. On Friday, I want Friday's post to link back to Monday's blog..when people are reading it they might find a statement like this on Friday's blog, "On Monday's post I found these books to be helpful", and they could click on a Monday link and go to the list from Friday's post. I know it sounds confusing but basically I'm wanting to know how to link between posts made on different days in the same blog..Thanks, ns

  7. Nancy, click on the title of the post you want to link to, and copy the dedicated URL that appears in the address bar (alternatively, right-click on the title and "copy location"). In your new post, highlight the words you want to use as linking text, click on the little chain-link icon in your posting box and paste the URL there.

Voila, a link back to the original post.

  8. Hi Kitt and Nancy,

Kitt: Thanks for the information provided. It is useful.

Nancy: You can do what Kit suggested which will make the window open in the same window. If you want it to open in new window, refer to How to make a clickable link. There are lots other information about making links in that post as well including how to make a tool tip appear when a visitor hover the mouse over a link and get more information about the site he/she will get directed to if the link is clicked.

  9. Hi Nancy,

I reread your comment again and I think I have to refer you to Link List: What is it and how to make use of it. I hope the bottom part of that post will address what I think you are asking for.
