Thanks to Amanda of Blogger Buster, I learned about this simple Best Table of Content (TOC) or sitemap for Blogger which I tested by creating a sitemap for my very first "Blogger related" blog, Blogger for Dummies (which I reluctantly had to change title to Dummies Guide to Blogger because of trademark issues).
You can see the link to the sitemap at the top of the second sidebar of my very first Blogger related blog. I hope you will have a look at it and give me some feedback by leaving a comment.
I think I will probably use Abu Farhan's 2 line script for this blog as well sometime in the very near future.
Hi! I came across this last night at Amanda's and gave Abu Farhan's 2 line script a go. Worked well!

Just found your site today when looking for help on why Blogger removed the sp ck tool. Finding you was indeed a "bloggem"...so I'll be back for sure and will promote your site. Kudos to you for all of your diligent work.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeletePlease can you tell me whether there is a way to check how may followers have hit the "follow blog" button as opposed to the "follow with Friend Connect" button ?
Thankyou
This is a long shot, but perhaps this Google Analytics site overlay may be the solution for you.
ReplyDeleteHello Peter,
ReplyDeleteThank you - I have begun the process. The one thing I don't understand (not being at all technical) is this line :
Copy the following code block into every web page that you want to track immediately before the body tag.
What does that actually mean in plain English in terms of where I put the code ? Usually I have to create a new box for it anyway.
Thank you for your excellent advice as ever !
Just copy paste into the post editor and that post will become the sitemap (table of content) and then just add a hyperlink in the sitebar pointing to that post.
ReplyDeleteReally sorry Peter but your advice is double Dutch to me. Please could you explain in plain English so that I know where to put the text ? I don't understand "post editor" or "hyperlink" or what they mean, let alone where they are on my page ! Thank you
ReplyDeleteIf you are that new, perhaps this Blogger Book might be useful for you.
ReplyDeleteStart with Publishing a post where you have an explanation for post editor.
Get yourself familiar with COMPOSE mode and Edit HTML mode.
Also Adding gadgets (page elements where LAYOUT is described (I think)
Forgot to include hyperlinks which is what you click to take you to somewhere on the World Wide Web.

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Disclaimer":
hi please visit
http://college-2-job.blogspot.com/
My blog is college2job.blogspot.com
(without hyphens)
pls help me.
Thanks
You are saying someone stole your content and set up a duplicate site? See how I dealt with a similar problem before:
ReplyDeleteWhat to do when your content is copied
Tingplik copied my posts word for word
SB Gobbinathan copied my posts word for word
Sir
ReplyDeleteThanks for the response.
It is not copying posts or content.
just check these two urls. how both are exact? (except url)
http://college-2-job.blogspot.com/
My blog is: college2job.blogspot.com
(without hyphens)
Thanks
If they are the same except URL, then one is copying the other.
ReplyDeleteSir
ReplyDeleteThanks for the response.
It is same except that hyphenation in the url. My blog is college2job.blogspot.com
If if I click on any link or post in this blog (college-2-job.blogspot.com), then it is redirecting to my blog. all links are like that only. It seems somebody just created a blog with almost same url (with hyphenation) and redirecting it to my blog.
How to avoid this.
pls guide me. I have contacted you earlier also for other help. Thanks for your guidance and very useful info. I have created my blog college2job.blogspot.com with the help of your tips only. I am planning to apply for Google Adsense and shocked with this development. pls guide me in this time of trouble. How to deal with this?
Thanks

I thought I have already given information on how to handle a situation like this in my earlier comments. Here is one again: What to do when your blog content is copied.
ReplyDeletethanks Peter. Sadly I don't have time to go through loads of links, most of which are as much double dutch as the original problem.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's before we get into whether or not Google Analytics will answer my initial query !
It would be most helpful for me if you could provide step by step instructions as to how to add the Google Analytics code, then I'll know exactly what to do and what to avoid. Is that possible ? I'm sure it would be helpful to others too.
OK a "Google Analytics for Dummies" post coming up after I have verified something first. Check back later.
ReplyDeleteHi! Your blog is simply super. you have create a differentiate. Thanks for the sharing this website. it is very useful professional knowledge. Great idea you know about company background. Customized application development
ReplyDeletethanks Peter - having checked back I can't see anything though....
ReplyDeleteHi Elise,
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it, I am not very sure your problem is related to this Sitemap or to Google Analytics. Waiting for feedback from you.
sorry I know you said you'd replied but I can't see it here...
ReplyDeletePeter, my original question was " how do I find out who is following my blog besides those who follow through google friend connect".
ReplyDeleteYou suggested Google analytics though you said it was a long shot.
I couldn't find out one way or the other because I couldn't work out how to load the code onto my blog.
You were going to write a post about this.
Really, I'd rather find the answer to my original question if that's possible. And I really need to do this fast !
Thanks
Hi Elise,
ReplyDeleteWith regards to what you need done, I would not be surprised if you are in a better position to solve your own problem than me as I hardly bothered with Followers, but let me try.
I had at one time installed the Followers gadget in the sidebar of my blog. I vaguely remembered that one can click on something in that gadget and it will reveal who is following my blog. Perhaps you already know this, and if so, forgive my ignorance as I am still hazy about all this followers and Google Friends Connect stuff.
